The flower market is situated in the Gudimalkapur area of Mehdipatnam, a suburb in Hyderabad. It is on the left side of PV Narasimha Rao Flyover. It was setup in 2009. It is well known for its quality and quantity of flowers which comes from Bangalore, Chennai and other parts of the country. The flowers are highly biodegradable and need to be sold before they wilt.
The hustle starts in the market from the morning and continues till early afternoon. You will see buyers and sellers negotiating like in any Indian bazaar. Different varieties and colours of flowers will surely mesmerize you during your first visit. As you walk through the market, you will feel the strong essence and aroma, this place exhibits. People come here to buy flowers for different reasons. Some flowers are destined for worshipping the God in the temple; some flowers are used to make bouquet to be given to their beloved ones and some flowers are used to be kept on someone’s funeral.
