Yenugu Mallamma Konda was the old name of Horsley Hills. As according to a legend, there was a little young girl named Mallamma who used to heal the tribal people on the hill by her unknown mystic powers. Elephants took care of her. When she disappeared suddenly, the local people thought that she was a Goddess and constructed a temple for her. Later, during the mid 18th century, British officer named W.D. Horsley, the collector of the then Cuddapah district, visited this place. He got mesmerized by the beauty of this place and makes this spot as his summer residence. Now, the same house is the summer residence of Governor of Andhra Pradesh and therefore referred to as Governor’s Bungalow.

The major tourist attractions around the Horsley Hills are Galibanda, Lake Gangotri and Mansarovar, Mallamma Temple, Shiva Temple, Horsley Hills Museum, Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Highview Seeing Point, Thimmamma Marrimaanu (Largest herd of Banyan Trees in the world), Environmental Park, Kalyani Tree and Rishi Valley School.

This place is also a heaven for adventure enthusiasts. Adventure Sports like Trekking and Rappelling are conducted here. It is also one of the few places in India which offers Zorbing.
