Madh Island Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Mumbai. It is located at the north-western coast of Mumbai. This place is a home of small quaint fishing villages and farmlands. The gorgeous white sandy beach of the island make it a best place for hosting luxurious rave parties which is mainly organised by the Mumbai’s elite people as well as by celebrities. Many Bollywood movies and soap operas have also been shot at this exotic venue. The beaches here are not ideal for swimming due to the shallow water and shifting tides. Unlike other beaches in the Mumbai city, Madh Island Beach is very clean and unpolluted.
Erangal is a picturesque village located on Madh Island. The major occupation of the villagers here is farming. Another attraction on the beach is the ‘Madh Fort’, popularly known as ‘Versova Fort’. It is a structure that was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. This fort was utilized as a watchtower and used for training cadets. There is also a church named ‘St. Bonaventure’, built in the 16th century by the Portuguese, situated very close to the beach.
Tourists visiting here can also explore the local fishing communities that are situated very close to the seashore. ‘The Retreat’ and ‘The Resort’ are famous five star hotels situated very close to the beach. Tourists can spend time enjoying the spectacular view of the beach, or get relaxed at the spa or even indulge in some 5-star gourmet dishes.

The island beach is well connected by bus service (271 to Malad and 269 to Borivali). The Bus Service from Andheri is 249, 251 & 221 which are easily accessed. You can also hire an autorickshaw or private taxi from Malad. The best way to reach the island is by your own car or bike.
The beach is connected to famous amusement park, “Essel World”, so tourists can use the ferry boat from Gorai creek (Borivali) and reach this island beach. Ferry services are also available from Versova.
